Friday Night at Der Rathskeller: Bleached w/ Potty Mouth

Ahh, fall. The temperature is changing, the leaves are different colors, everything is suddenly pumpkin flavored, and the city is in total tranquility.

Oooooor…not. If you’re not quite ready for the whispery, burnished tones of autumn quite yet, why not keep rocking with us at Der ‘Skeller this Friday? Bleached will ensure that your summer ends not with a fizzle, but with a bang.

Comprising Bleached is a pair of sisters, Jennifer and Jesse Clavin. Originating from the L.A. garage rock scene before charming critics from SXSW to Pitchfork, Bleached sounds like a shot of power-pop adrenaline to their listeners’ collective arms. Their newest album, Ride Your Heart, ricochets from Californian surf-rock vices, to sternum-rattling guitar riffs, to melodies that echo of the classic rock sensibilities of bands like The Rolling Stones and The Cars. The Clavin sisters can simultaneously charm a crowd and break their hearts, and their live shows are truly not to be missed. Check out Dead In Your Head, off of Ride Your Heart, right here.

Opening for Bleached is Potty Mouth, a similarly estrogen-powered group. Their lead singer’s alto belt melds perfectly with their upbeat jams, and quite frankly, it’s almost impossible to resist whipping your hair around and dancing when listening to it. Check out the video for their newest single, The Spins, off their brand spankin’ new record, Hell Bent, out as of September 17th

The show starts at 9:30, free admission, DON’T MISS OUT.
