I was trying to use an app on spotify that makes playlists for you based on your mood. They’re bad obviously (personally I don’t want to listen to Cher when I’m feeling romantic), so I thought I can maybe do this better. Of course I only have a few, you’ll notice angsty, depressed, trippin b*llz, rainy, shame spiral, and many others are missing so feel free to leave an emoticon with a corresponding song.

MOOD: I want something soulful, no synthy bleepy bloops or bass drops for me today

Alabama Shakes- Hold On

MOOD: I want synthy, bleepy bloopy electronic awesomeness

Picture from Pitchfork

Come see Memoryhouse, The Loom and Cat Martino this Saturday in the Der Rathskeller at 9:30 PM!

Memoryhouse, a dreampop ensamble from Sub Pop Records, is currently in the final stages of production for their first LP after a September release of a fully re-recorded, remixed and re-mastered version of their EP, The Years. If you haven’t yet, check out the dreamy sound of Memoryhouse in the video below.

The show will kick off with indie-folk songstress Cat Martino, who has opened for the likes of Rufus Wainwright, RIDE frontman Mark Gardener, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and more.

Following, WUD Music is proud to bring the Brooklyn-based indie-rock band, The Loom to Madison. NPR‘s World Cafe assures us that they’re sure to put on an “electrifying onstage performance that combines lots of instruments and lots of chemistry, and now lots of buzz as well,” according to an article released just this month. Check out their sound below:

See you Saturday!

This Friday: My Gold Mask and Briar Rabbit

My Gold Mask, a band Pitchfork equated with the sound of early Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, will be playing Der Rathskeller alongside singer-songwriter Briar Rabbit this Friday night at 9:30 PM. You’ll love the indie electronic sound of My Gold Mask paired with the soulful, heartfelt sound of Briar Rabbit. Definitely a must-see! Check below for a little taste of both:

Star Slinger’s New Single + Diplo’s Latest Mix

Star Slinger has been selling out a string of shows on his U.S. tour and next Saturday he brings it all in here at Union South. Very recently he signed with Mountain Dew’s Green Label Sound along with artists like Chromeo and (—>) Neon Indian.  His first official single from the label, “Dumbin’”,  features soul singer Reggie B.
